[Ori's posts recalling the events throughout MBU. I do not hold any ownership of them, as I am merely reposting them within this board.]
Maverick vs. Sakurazaki thread:
- Introduction of Maverick (UN Space Forces) and Sakurazaki (ORB). - Introduction of YF-19 (Shinsei Industry) and ORB-01 Akatsuki (Morgenroete, Inc.) - First use of Veritech unit. - First use of GUNDAM unit. - First use of beam weaponry and beam-coated armor. - First use of DRAGOONS.
SIDENOTE- First 'alternate ending'; first use of a Snorlax in battle; first donning of a red cap for the Akatsuki. ><
Summary: Fighting between the two pilots results in severe damage for both units. Sakurazaki is eventually captured by Maverick, who refuses to kill her, after a final, decisive move.
(IMPORTANT EDIT: I shall be multi-posting here, due to my constant study of this RP, and its length. Please forgive me this transgression.)

- Sakurazaki is introduced as "Rei" for the first time. - Maverick is introduced as an Ensign of the UN Space Forces for the first time. - First true conversation between Maverick and Sakurazaki.
Summary: As Maverick converses with the captive Sakurazaki, they descend to Earth, and head towards North America, leaving the Akatsuki behind. - Introduction of the Titans and the Parisian Titans complex. - Introduction of Duo Maxwell, the laid-back mercenary, currently (and grudgingly) employed as security detail for the Titans. - Introduction of the Tartarus Gundam and a Marasai (Titans). - First mention of Jerid.
(OOC) First posts by Sakurazaki of Bal's responses, due to computer issues.
- First hand-to-hand melee (Rei and Maverick vs. Titans guards) - First contact between Duo, Rei, and Maverick.
Summary: Maverick and Rei crash land in a forest near Paris due to low fuel. As they walk into the city, they stumble upon a drunken man, who attempts to hit Maverick, but is punched in the face by him in self-defense.
Meanwhile, the party from which the drunken man came was still taking place in a nearby Titan complex, guarded by Duo Maxwell and his Tartarus Gundam. Despite the fact Maverick's punch was in self-defense, Titan guards entered the fray, and a melee began with Rei and Maverick on one side, and the guards on the other.
Duo exits his mech to join the fight, but is ordered instead to stop it by firing his handgun. Bringing to an end the fight through the noise of the shot, Duo then aims at Rei and Maverick. Hurling a hunting knife at Duo, and quickly grabbing one of the unsuspecting guards as a shield and taking his gun, Rei tells Maverick to run.

As three Veritechs answer Maverick's distress signal, Paptimus Scirocco reveals himself, along with his The O, two Palace Athenes, and two Psycho Gundams (MA form) and requests the UN forces stand down. They do, and Maverick and Rei are led inside to meet with Scirocco. Duo is bored again.
Maverick and Rei explain the gist of their situation to Scirocco, who has some mysterious interest in Rei, face to face. Scirocco seems to be cooperating with the two. Scirocco tells his men to contact the UN Embassy for Maverick, and Rei asks he do the same for her to the ORB forces.

- First use of the term "Lovers' Spat" by Scirocco towards Rei and Maverick; the latter plays along jokingly, but Rei isn't so jovial about it. - Introduction of Sarah (Titans). - First mention of M1 Astrays (ORB) - First signs of Scirocco's mysterious plot (in thought caption). - Introduction of Amelia (Titans-Federation). - First signs of Duo being a ladies' man, himself. - First mention of AEUG.
(OOC) Beginning of Judas' part in the MBU.
- Introduction of Kaito (ORB). - Introduction of M1 Astrays.
Summary: Despite Maverick's light protest, the ORB forces are contacted, as well. Maverick leaves the room alone, and Rei is led out by Sarah to Duo, who waits outside. Scirocco considers plans for using Rei and Maverick in the future.
Duo was given the order to watch over Rei by a young female Federation officer, Amelia Toussaint, whom Duo takes a slight liking to. When he meets with Rei, he takes a liking to her, as well. Truly Duo is quite the player!
Maverick leaves with his fellow Veritech pilots.
As Rei and Duo engage in conversation about Duo's work, the M1 Astrays, led by Kaito, are on their way to pick Rei up.

(OOC) Beginning of Aniki's part in MBU.
- Introduction of Saito. - First mention of Gundam Treasoner and Mech Designers. - Duo is first referred to as "The Black Angel" by Scirocco. - First mention of the deaths of Duo's parents, apparently at the hand of the Titans. - First mention of Jamitov (Titans). - Saito skips on the check for his hotel stay, showing a level of gymnastic skill likened to Rei's. - First reference to Ryouba as "Ryou".
Summary: While Rei and Duo continue to talk as they wait for the ORB forces, Duo reveals that he has no affiliations, and never plans on getting any.
Rei is soon picked up by Kai in his Duel, along with several M1 Astrays and a convoy of black cars. Kai introduces himself, and goes to offer Duo a job, but is interrupted by Sarah, who informs Duo of his payment. At this point, it appears as though Duo might have joined Rei in ORB, but Sarah's interference cut off that possibility for the time being. Throwing his card to Kai, Duo disappears into the complex.
Meanwhile, Maverick is informed back at the UN Embassy that ORB and the UN are now allied, and receives not only a jump in rank to Captain, but also the offer by ORB forces to make for him a brand new mobile suit.
Inside the complex, Duo receives his payment. It is revealed through Duo's thoughts that the Titans had something to do with the deaths of Duo's parents; in Scirocco's thoughts, we find that he intends to make use of Duo in the future.
Elsewhere in Paris, Ryouba of the Junk Guild arrives, having just brought in the Akatsuki, which he found floating in space. He leaves it on his modified Gaw as he takes in the sights of Paris.
Rei is informed that the Akatsuki was stolen (though tracers were placed on it), and is expectedly irritated by the news.
At the same time, Saito, who purchased the Gundam Treasoner from Ryouba, seeks him out in order to have him perform maintenance on it; apparently, no other mechanics can handle. or understand the workings of, the Treasoner. Skipping out on his bill for his stay in a Parisian hotel, Saito continues his search for Ryouba, and begins his search for a ride.

Current list of main characters by page 5's end, and initial impressions:
Maverick, the Wild Eagle of the UN Space Forces (reckless, an interesting sense of humor, chivalrous, a bit dense at times).
Rei, the hard-eyed Coordinator of ORB (beautiful, intelligent, willful, strong-minded, cynical).
Duo, the Black Angel and "partner" of the Tartarus (laid back, relaxed, loves freedom and a good fight, a ladies' man, has a deep sense of honor and regret in spite of his mercenary background).
Kai, an officer of ORB (gregarious, lighthearted, but takes his work seriously).
Ryouba, the Junk Guild salvager and Mech Designer (interested in money, booze, and women, somewhat carefree and equally "badass" you might say).
Saito, the owner of the Gundam Treasoner (apparently cheap and unwilling to deal with hotel managers, determined to get his suit worked on- no matter what).

As Shinigami might say, "yare yare..."
MBU Page 6: Ryouba and Saito
- First mention of "K.I.S.A" by Kai. - Saito shows skill as a mechanic for the first time. - First mention of a Garuda-class ship (Titans). - First mention of Ryouba's Kurenaien (Junk Guild) - First mention of a suit with archetypal variable armors, equipment, and configurations (Kurenaien). - First mention of Armslaves.
(OOC) Shingami leaves the RP temporarily.
- It is revealed that Ryouba holds a wakizashi at his waist.
Summary: Kai follows the tracer program and moves to retrieve Rei's Akatsuki, currently being held in Ryouba's Junk Guild Gaw. Unbeknownst to the ORB pilot, the Junk Guild has already found the tracer program, and reprogrammed its target to be a Garuda-class Titans ship that is far from the Gaw, yet very close to Ryouba's current position at the junkyard.
At the same time, Saito reconstructs and modifies an old car with his mechanical skills in order to seek out Ryouba, whom he finds at the junkyard. Ryouba is then made aware of the situation via a cell phone call, and asks the tech to prepare his Kurenaien for sniper configuration.
Ryouba refuses to tell Saito anything. Instead, he asks Saito to bring the Treasoner with him to his Gaw.
Duo notices the presence of the Junk Guild, and temporarily leaves the scene.
In his Duel, Kai tears open the door of the ship indicated on his tracer program, which happens to be the Titan's Garuda-class not far from Ryouba. Noticing the Akatsuki is not there, he heads towards the junkyard to find if it has already been sold.
Ryouba offers the junk salesman double pay for the quick delivery of his wares to the Gaw, and both he and Saito quickly make their way back to the warehouse where the Treasoner is stored.

Very interesting...anywho...
MBU Page 7: Duplicity
- First signs of Saito's reckless disregard for human life and mental instability. - Kai makes contact with Ryouba and Saito for the first time. - First reference to...Super Mario...? - First truly comical moments between Saito and Ryouba.
(OOC) Beginning of Jusu's part in MBU.
(OOC) Beginning of Jun's part in MBU.
- Introduction of Junichi Kanzaki and Franklin Stag. - Junichi is first referred to as the "Dark Divider". - Introduction of Junichi's mech, the Cross Gazer Gundam. - First mention of Operation Fury.
Summary: Saito takes Ryouba on an insane ride through the streets of Paris, even going so far as to race a train and nearly ending both their lives. They are soon stopped by Kai in his Duel, who had been following them since he noticed them speeding away from the junkyard.
Saito is uncooperative and rowdy, much to Ryouba's chagrin. Hitting him continuously with his wakizashi's hilt, Ryouba claims ignorance of the knowledge of the Akatsuki's whereabouts, and proceeds to try to convince Kai of their innocence. Throwing his wakizashi to the ground, he claims that Kai has no right to confront them like this without any evidence of guilt.
There are stirrings of yet another military power at Lagrange Point 5, although little to no information is yet given as to who it is or what its motives are.
Meanwhile, in Spain, Junichi Kanzaki, "The Dark Divider", meets with a man named Franklin Stag, who hires him to assassinate Paptimus Scirocco. Junichi takes the job, and returns to his Cross Gazer Gundam for Paris, Scirocco's last known whereabouts.

MBU Page 8: Confusion
- First mention of Captain Hazard (ORB). - Introduction of Captain Lanster (UN Forces). - Sentient AI (YUKI N.) is first demonstrated in the Veritech of Captain Lanster. - The first appearance of "K.I.S.A.". - The secret within Ryouba's wakizashi is revealed. - First use of voice commands to control a mech without physical prompting. - First use of mirage colloids and a Mega Particle Cannon. - Introduction of Cagalli and Captain Hazard. - Introduction of Nagato and the Tyrfing Rising, Lanster's Veritech. - Lanster is referred to as "James" for the first time. - First use of thermal vision. - Introduction of the Gundam Sougeki no Kurenaien (Quick Mod Version), Ryouba's mobile suit. - Lanster comes into contact with Ryouba, Kai, and Saito for the first time. - First mention of the United Nations Spacey Command (of which Lanster is a part). - Introduction of the Gundam Treasoner in battle. - Mention is made of Rei's actions in Africa for the first time (by Hazard).
SIDENOTE: It is revealed that Rei's earring is, in fact, a transmitter and form of identification as an ORB pilot.
Summary: In the ORB Embassy, Rei meets up with Cagalli and Hazard, taking time to relax and catch up somewhat on current events.
At this time, Kai sics his K.I.S.A. special ops forces on Ryouba and Saito in order to detain them for questioning, and, thinking they'd succeed, turned his back on the two. Using voice commands, Ryouba unleashes the secrets of his sword, from which beams mysteriously shoot out, activating his nearby mirage-colloid-cloaked Kurenaien and prompting it to fire at the agents and the Duel. The majority of the agents are severely injured or killed in this exchange, but the Duel manages to avoid the coup de grace, a Mega Particle Beam Cannon aimed straight at Kai's cockpit.
Saito leaves Ryouba and the Kurenaien in order to get his Gundam Treasoner to assist in the battle.
Meanwhile, Captain James Lanster arrives at the Paris UN base in his Tyrfing Rising for rest and refueling. Taking a Warthog (Jeep-like vehicle) out for a joyride, he comes upon the site of the mobile suit battle between the Kurenaien and Duel. Having Nagato, the Tyrfing Rising's sentient AI, hack into and activate the Warthog's chaingun, Lanster fires on both mechs, causing Ryouba to command his Kurenaien to use its mirage colloids and disappear. The Captain announces that he is with the UN Spacey Forces, and has the authority to arrest the pilots in the fight.
Since he was never in a mobile suit during the battle, Ryouba took advantage of the situation by placing the blame for the scuffle on the Duel and whoever piloted the other mech (which was no one). In response to these developments, Kai withdraws quickly, claiming sanctuary under mercenary laws.
Lanster has Nagato track the retreating Duel, and demands Ryouba enter the Warthog. He does, but only after requesting Saito's assistance in the Treasoner to pick him up.
Junichi Kanzaki, still in Spain, is finally taking off for Paris and fulfilling his contract on Scirocco.

MBU Page 9: Turnabout
- First interesting escape. - First use of Cat's Eye Sentries. - First use of MA mode for the Treasoner Gundam. - First mention of the Takemikazuchi and Archangel - First mention of Lanster's ship having been near the battle between Rei and Maverick.
Summary: Saito comes to Ryouba's rescue with the mobile armor form of the Treasoner, detaching a wire that Ryouba grabs onto as it flies above the Warthog. James (Lanster) and the gathering local police and UN armed forces fire tranquilizer shots at the fleeing man, but only James' bullet hits its mark.
Ryouba manages the strength to climb into the Treasoner's cockpit, but soon becomes drowsy and begins to pass out. As Saito frantically asks him the whereabouts of his ship, Ryouba barely manages to mouth the words. When they arrive at the airport, Ryouba takes a swing at Saito, who promptly blocks it. Ryouba tells him to "get Kid and Farzenbarg" before fully blacking out. Saito takes Ryouba inside, and takes him toward the Gaw, calling the two names as he goes.
James, who was pursuing the Treasoner in his Tyrfing Rising, is called back to the UN base. He is then ordered to contact Representative Attha concerning the events which took place.
At this time, Kai stops his Duel near a riverbank and sends a message to Rei's mobile before throwing his own into the river. The message reads simply, "Sorry Rei-san. See you back at ORB ~Kaito". With that, he makes his way in the direction of the ORB Embassy.
At an upscale restaurant, Cagalli, Hazard, and Rei are enjoying themselves with a fine dinner, when James makes his entrance. Taking in their measure, he informs the three about the recent developments that have taken place (the unannounced existence of the Akatsuki, the escape of the Junkers who may have stolen it, and the fighting involving a "mercenary"-piloted Duel and an unknown mech). For his failure to apprehend the Junkers and the Duel pilot, James is ordered to assist in the recovery of the Akatsuki for ORB. This help is accepted by Cagalli gratefully.
James leaves the restaurant and, planning to wait for Rei outside, starts up his Warthog, which very nearly impales the nearby host.

Thanks for the support, all.
MBU Page 10: Searching for Junkers
- Rei is introduced to Nagato, who introduces herself as "the shipborne AI and personal AI for Captain Lanster". - James appears to have the same speed-demon mentality as Maverick and Saito at times. - Introduction of the Guul.
Summary: After an argument with the host, James takes Rei to the site of the mech battle (Duel vs. Kurenaien) in his Warthog, driving like some sortof maniac. Based on the course the Treasoner seemed to have taken, to the north, James and Rei board the Tyrfing Rising at the site and head straight towards the large airport in that direction, hoping it will lead them to the Junkers.
Meanwhile, Kai, who has loaded the Duel onto a Guul on his way back to ORB, notices the Veritech flying not too far from his own position.
Landing at the airport, Rei and James, along with the UN and local forces, prepare to search for the mysterious mechs and the Junkers.

(OOC) First nearly-two-month break [7-10-2007 to 9-5-2007 with no posts]
- Saito first pilots, and battles in, the Akatsuki. - Introduction of Lt. Harrai (ORB). - Introduction of Saito's base, a cave at the side of a cliff. - Introduction of the MVF-M11C Murasame (ORB) for Rei's use. - First mention of Saito's father (talking in sleep) - First use of a tracer-firing rifle.
Summary: As Rei and James plot a raid of the area with the UN and local forces, Saito finally makes his way to the Gaw with Ryouba still unconscious. When he discovers the carrier's second hanger, Saito ditches Ryouba and hijacks the Akatsuki within. Reaching the Treasoner, which is now surrounded by the UN and local forces (and where Rei and James are), Saito threatens to destroy the Akatsuki if fired upon. Grabbing onto his Gundam with the Akatsuki, he makes his way to a secret hideout at the side of a cliff, successfully escaping the forces.
Rei is given a standard issue Murasame for use as a temporary unit by the ORB forces. Taking the Murasame, she traces her Akatsuki to Saito's secret hideout. Realizing that he's in trouble with both Ryouba and the female pilot no matter what he does, Saito decides to use the Akatsuki to battle Rei's incoming Murasame.
During their battle, Rei, who is more experienced with the Akatsuki, is able to gain the upper hand. In a sudden move, she fires a tracer at the Akatsuki in hopes that it will successfully override the unit's AI.

MBU Page 12: Renewal
- First contact between Rei and Saito. - First direct mention of Saito's father's death, for which he blames ORB. - First mention of someone dear to Rei who was killed in the war. - Rei recovers her Akatsuki.
(OOC) First "Convenient time skip GO!" One year passes! (Blame Ryouba and Shinigami)
- "Kid and Farzenbarg" are introduced as Kid Salsamille and Techs Farzenbarg, crewmates on the Gaw.
SIDENOTE: First really weird excuse for being incarcerated for months on end for being found unconscious in the airport: illegal self-injection of tranquilizing poison as part of a teenage drug trip. LOL
- Ryouba takes back his Treasoner. - Saito introduced as Saito Yukuhiro. - Saito's first use of the M1 Astray (ORB). - Rei's mother introduced (ORB scientist). - First use of "Tempest", Saito's first signature move.
(OOC) Return of Shinigami to MBU.
- Introduction of the Neo Zeon faction. - First use of the Gaza-D (Neo-Zeon). - First mention of Haman Karn (Neo-Zeon).
Summary: Rei's tracer works, disabling the Akatsuki. Holding him at gunpoint, they share a brief exchange, and it is revealed that Saito blames ORB for his father's death. In spite of his warnings to the contrary, when Saito is taken into custody by ORB forces, he does not fight, perhaps because of his apparent feelings about Rei, or perhaps because of her statements about losing loved ones in war. Rei retrieves her Akatsuki at last, and they depart for ORB.
One year passes, and many things have changed. The political faces of Earth and Space are constantly shifting.
Ryouba, who has been incarcerated for several months, works at a junkyard once his time in prison is done. With the money he's made off the job, he restores the Treasoner Saito left behind, and takes off, finally leaving Paris.
Saito, meanwhile, had been taken by ORB, but detained for a short period of time, thereafter deciding to join ORB's military. During a simulation, he and Rei meet up for the first time since Rei recovered her Akatsuki.
Meanwhile, outside of the ORB base where Saito and Rei battle, a group of Gaza-D's under Neo-Zeon's command prepare to move out. A mysterious mobile suit lurks in the background, awaiting its time to shine.

MBU Page 13: Playing Politics
- First reference to Saito as Lt. Yukuhiro - First reference to Rei as Captain Sakurazaki of the ORB Amatsu Elite Core - First use of the V Tempest, another signature move of Saito's. - First use of the Jagd Doga (Neo Zeon) - Introduction of the AEUG and Karaba. - Introduction of Captain Beecha Oleg and the Vosgulov-class submarine, Ordruun. - Introduction of the Audhumla. - Introduction of Sakuma and the Ze'Gok; Lt. Ryoutou and the Forbidden Blue; Tatsuha and the ASH (AUEG). - First use of Nemos and GMs (AEUG/Karaba)
Summary: The Gaza-Ds of Neo Zeon wish to open up diplomatic relations with ORB, but, once spotted, all but the most secure of communication lines are cut, leaving the Neo Zeon forces with no way to show that they are friendly.
An alarm sounds at the ORB base, and Rei and Saito answer. Saito launches in his M1 Astray and takes on a hidden mobile suit on a nearby cliff (which he discovers on complete accident). Rei soon launches in her Akatsuki and finds herself fighting against three Gaza-Ds.
Rei manages to destroy the first of the Gaza-Ds, but three more attack, one piloted by the Neo Zeon commander. Hacking into the communications link, the NZ commander asks Rei to cease all fire, in hope that diplomatic relations might be established.
At this time, Saito fights for his life against the mysterious mobile suit, which reveals itself to be a Jagd Doga. The Jagd Doga wins the upper hand, and holds Saito's Astray in a helplessly dangerous position.
Ryouba boards AEUG Captain Beecha Oleg's submarine, the Ordruun, which inhabits the waters just outside of ORB territory. Mistaking the Neo Zeon forces at the nearby ORB base for Titans forces, Beecha orders his rather small team to take out the commander's Gaza-D, in hopes of disrupting a possible diplomacy effort that could grant the Titans yet another ally, and greater control over the Earth Sphere.

MBU Page 14: Explosion
- First water battle. - Introduction of the Zeta Gundam and Hyakushiki, as well as the Rick Dias (AEUG).
Summary: Hearing the offer for diplomacy, Cagalli orders Rei and Saito to stand down and bring the Neo Zeon pilots back to the ORB Headquarters.
When the Neo Zeon commander radios his comrades that their sue for peace and a meeting for diplomacy has been successful, the message is intercepted by the AEUG. The Ze'Gok fires a mega particle beam at the commanding Neo Zeon unit, hitting the Gaza-D's fusion reactor and instantly destroying pilot and suit alike in the core explosion.
Thereby begins a massive battle on the outskirts of ORB territory, between the ORB and Neo Zeon forces on one side, and the AEUG/Karaba forces on the other. Neither side has a clear advantage, though reinforcements for the AEUG have yet to arrive.

- First use of Spacejobber subflight platforms (perhaps better known as basejabbers?) - Lt. Quattro Bajeena and Kamille Bidan appear on the battlefield for the first time. - Duo Maxwell, pilot of the Jagd Doga (Neo Zeon), reveals himself. - Lt. Quattro Bajeena reveals himself as Char Aznable for the first time. - Introduction of Apolly and Roberto (AUEG). - End of the first massive battle. - Sundering of, and rebellion within, the AUEG.
(OOC) Jusu's part in the MBU continues.
- Captain James A. Lanster (UN Spacey Forces) is reintroduced. - Introduction of Lanster's ship, the U.N.S. Walter N. Vernou. - Introduction of Excalibur Veritechs, and reappearance of Tyrfing Rising and Nagato.
Summary: The fighting continues, with Saito ejecting from his M1 Astray, and Rei's Akatsuki pushed to the limit.
When the Hyakushiki appears, it and the Jagd Doga duel for several minutes before the pilot of the Jagd Doga, who reveals himself as Duo Maxwell, announces over a wide-scale frequency not only his identity, but the existence of Neo Zeon. The pilot of the Hyakushiki responds by announcing himself as Char Aznable, the Red Comet of Zeon.
These announcements are heard by all forces, ORB, Neo Zeon, and AEUG alike. As a result, massive rebellion stirs up in the AUEG between those who wish for the Principality's return, and those who do not. It is revealed that more than approximately 70% of the forces in the AEUG are, in fact, ex-Zeons. The pro-Neo Zeon group still on the AUEG submarine attempts a coup and moves to take over the bridge, with Ryouba, Oleg and other main officers still inside.
Meanwhile, chaos erupts outside, with the AUEG units attacking one another, killing friend and foe alike.
Given clearance, Char (who has agreed to join with Duo for the time being), Apolly, Roberto, and Duo move to land at ORB HQ. Before she accompanies them, Rei picks up Saito, and then follows suit. Meanwhile, James A. Lanster's UNS force moves towards Onogoro Island (where ORB HQ is located and the chaotic AUEG forces are still fighting) from Earth's orbit.

MBU Page 16: Gathering
- First meeting between AEUG, ORB, UNS, and NZ representatives. - Rei and Duo are reunited after more than a year; Rei and Saito are reunited with James; Duo comes into first contact with James and Saito. - First mention of Mineva Zabi (Neo Zeon).
Summary: The battlefield remains fraught with confusion, and the AUEG begins to withdraw its forces from ORB territory.
Onboard the AEUG submarine, the ex-AEUG, Neo Zeon sympathizers storm the bridge. When a grenade is about to be thrown by one of them, Ryouba throws himself on the nearby control panel, causing the entire vessel to shake violently. The grenade hits a wall and explodes, showering the bridge with shrapnel. Ryouba and Oleg are unharmed due to the cover provided by the armored captain's chair. Grabbing nearby guns, Ryouba and the other officers rush to the hangars, fighting off the NZ sympathizers as they go.
Meanwhile, at ORB HQ, the ORB, AEUG, Neo Zeon, and UNS representatives meet for the first time. Rei explains the current situation, while Duo requests an alliance between NZ and ORB, and James requests a strengthening of their (UNS Forces') own alliance with ORB.
SIDENOTE: Oh, and Shinigami: Duo says, "Tch, I always end up meeting naturally-suspicious people." Honestly, when you pilot giant mobile suits for a living and meet a member from the other side of the war with whom you just fought, it is highly likely that the other person will be naturally-suspicious of you and your intentions, lol.

MBU Page 17: Alliances in Question
- First mention of an alliance between Neon Zeon and ZAFT. - First mention of Duo's "near-death incident".
Summary: As representative of the UN in ORB, James explains that he would like to reaffirm ORB's commitment to upholding the decisions made by the current forms of the Geneva and Hague conventions on use of superweapons; he also requests that his crew be allowed to land in ORB. Cagalli agrees to allow the UN forces to land, but asks the other matter to be discussed at another time.
That said, Char explains the purpose and misunderstandings behind the AEUG's attack on Neo Zeon. The situation with the Titans is explained, and an alliance between the AEUG and ORB is suggested.
The end result: Cagalli is interested in allying ORB with Neo Zeon and the AEUG. The UN question has yet to be answered in full.
After the meeting, Duo approaches Rei, and Saito listens secretly to their conversation nearby.

MBU Page 18: The Morning After
(OOC) First shattering of the fourth wall in a post (Jusu).
- Ryouba is first referred to as "Ryouba Hiryuu" - First use of the interface earring as a key surrogate. - Rei's visit to the grave of her father, Captain Raito Sakurazaki, is first recorded. - Rei's mother, Minako Sakurazaki, fully introduced. - To Rei's chagrin, the name "Arias" is apparently used to refer to her by her mother. - Ai Tsukamoto and Lena Reverie (ORB) are introduced. - Duo's Ladies' Man status (at least, in his head) is somewhat confirmed. - Saito's friend, Sarah (ORB) introduced. - Aeros Yukuhiro, a family member of Saito's, introduced.
Summary: Duo and Rei don't get very far in their conversation; Duo attempts to be congenial, but Rei is somewhat short and curt with him. This is less likely out of rudeness than out of Rei's quiet and somewhat emotionally-closed demeanor.
The UN forces land at ORB.
Ryouba is able to escape the AEUG submarine in his Treasoner, and hide the unit on a small island nearby. He radios the Junk Guild and claims first salvage rights for the area before falling asleep.
The next morning:
Rei visits her father's grave. Apparently for the first time, Rei finds her mother visiting the grave, as well. When Minako calls her "Arias", it strikes a chord in Rei that causes her to lash out verbally at her mother, claiming Minako abandoned her and her father years ago in favor (it is suggested) of some sortof weapons development project. This is the reason for her anger and unease when around her mother. She leaves the graveyard without a word of goodbye.
Saito takes a run around the park, and then a walk along the cliffs where he and Duo fought. Returning to HQ, he receives a letter from a family member, angry that Saito chose to return to ORB. He is issued a warning that if he does not leave ORB, he will regret it. Saito crumples the letter, concerned with his need to become stronger now.
Ryouba takes his MS towards the beach where yesterday's chaos unfolded, in order to salvage grounded MSs and get enough money to make his Treasoner seaworthy for underwater salvage. While moving through a thick forest on his way there, he notices a plume of smoke rising from the base of the nearby mountain, and goes to investigate.
James remains at ORB HQ, taking care of tedious procedure.
When Duo gets his breakfast from the HQ mess hall, he's greeted by the Chef, who is an ex-Zion, as well as two nervous young ladies. When he returns to his room, he finds the young women, namely Ai Tsukamoto and Lena Reverie, have followed him back to his room in order to ask if they could show him around. Duo accepts, and they leave HQ for the sights.

MBU Page 19: Reminisce
(OOC) First flashback scenes.
Duo's Past: - It is revealed that Jamitov Hymem gave the order to murder Duo's parents in their home. - First use of Sword Calamity (Federation - Past). - Introduction of Naomi Hunter (Federation - Past) and Jerid Messa (Fed/Titans - Past). - Introduction of the "Shadow Blitz" mercenary group, of which Duo is a part. - Long Dagger (Jerid) and Strike Dagger (Naomi) introduced. - BuCUEs and DINNs introduced. - First involvement of gun batteries. - First use of Scylla cannon. - According to Duo, Naomi is MIA; Jerid was killed in a battle against ZAFT.
The AEUG Pilots' Past: - Introduction of the Naga IV Experimental Corps. (Zeon - Past)
Present Day: - The letter received by Saito was sent by his brother, Aeros Yukuhiro. - First reference to Fire Bomber and the Macross 7 main characters. - Neo Zeon and AEUG join forces against the Titans.
Summary: In response to his brother's threatening letter, Saito returns to an abandoned warehouse he is currently using to construct his own mech, one that can handle his "Tempest" moves. On his way back to HQ, he comes across a promotional poster for a festival in which Fire Bomber is going to perform. He heads back to ask Rei if she'll join him.
Rei returns from the grave site and keeps to herself in her room for a little while. She moves to leave for the training room some time later, practically smacking into Saito, on the way out of her room, who asks her if she'll come with him to the festival. Thinking nothing unusual of it, she accepts, to Saito's nervousness and excitement.
After a day at the mall, Duo and the girls stop at a restaurant. The mercenary explains his past to the young ladies; his life as an orphan, thanks to the Titans; his growing up as a mercenary; his relationship and founding of his own mercenary group with Jerid and Naomi; Naomi's disappearance and Jerid's death. When the three return to base, Duo tells them that they should rethink their participation in war, to which Lena responds by saying she will do whatever she can to protect ORB, and that the path she's chosen is one she won't back down from.
Duo is told Char has some information by Apolly and Roberto. Returning to his room, Duo is informed by the Red Comet that Haman has established an alliance with the AEUG; her correspondence with ORB in the first place suggests an alliance between NZ and ORB is entirely possible, if not very likely. Duo prepares to leave for Carpentaria.
Ryouba's Treasoner is shot down by a mysterious particle blast. He wakes up to find the three ex-AEUG aces (the pilots of the Forbidden Blue, ASH, and Ze'Gok) holding him accountable for attempting to shoot them down. It is at this time the last Gaza-D reveals itself as the one who shot at both the Treasoner and the aces. Thinking quickly, Ryouba launches the Treasoner's arm into the back to the Gaza-D, thus killing the pilot without damaging the core. Ryouba and the aces exchange stories, and we find out that the latter group is wrongfully hated by many of Zeon as traitors to the Principality. Ryouba then mentions something about a "business proposition."
Humerous References: - "If it's not Scylla, it's Charybdis..." Odyssey reference and play on words. - "Vigorous Right Fist Fukuryuu!!" S-CRY-ed reference.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am regarding Hikari's first two posts, which are VERY LONG, as MBU page 19.5. They will be covered next.
