Maverick grinned as he pushed the throttle forward with his left hand and began to move the joystick around in a weaving motion with his right, the turret in the back firing off a few more shots before stopping and closing back into it's hidden position. Looking up at his rear-view mirror that he kept in his cockpit, he'd seen the mobile suit finally take some damage. But more then that, he now knew that he couldn't get too close.
He'd received a substantial amount of damage, but nothing too serious. Pushing down on the pedals that controlled the directional fins, Maverick pulled a power turn and pushed the thrusters even higher as his FAST pack roared to life and increased his speed. Looking down, Maverick saw that he was pushing Mach 10 and smiled. "Here we go, Sakurazaki!!" he yelled as he fired off a pair of missles at her.

"What the h-" Her words were cut off as a missile exploded close to her. The Akatsuki did a 180 degree turn, aiming Hyakurai's rifle at a missile that was incoming. The high powered beam glanced off the missile, but destroyed it. Several other missiles were incoming, pushing Akatsuki's limits, Sakurazaki pulled into a tight corkscrew while backing away from Maverick. Some missileheads connected, the explosions rocking the cockpit. The Akatsuki fired some high powered rounds from Hyakurai aimed at Maverick.

Maverick felt the G-forces pulling on him as he switched to GERWALK mode and spun around as he narrowly avoided a few and took one hit on the side of his wing which left it badly scorched. Frowning, he spun around and fired another round of missiles at her before switching back to his fighter and flying toward her, sending another wave of missiles at her.
As he got closer, Maverick switched back to GERWALK mode and fired his gun pod at her as he weaved around her until he was at her back. Seeing the pack that had been the cause for most of his troubles so far, he fired a cluster of micro-missiles at it as he opened fire with his gun pod.

The DRAGOONs had been lying dormant, until she flicked on the mental switch (Remember they are mind controlled), instantly the polygon shield covered Maverick's mech, encasing him in. Unfortunately, some of the micromissiles had connected with the Akatsuki, rocking the mech to the very core, damaging part of the gundam's functional system. A flash appeared across the interface screen as a monotonous voice droned, "Left arm damaged-80% mobility" Sakurazaki knew that it was a very tricky strategy, to draw your opponent in as close as possible, activate the DRAGOONS to form a polygon shield to cage in Maverick. Of course if she tried shooting it wouldn't do much good unless she deactivated the shield.

Maverick growled as he suddenly realized Sakurazaki's strategy, but couldn't help but congratulate her on such a plan. Though, that didn't mean he was just gonna sit here and take it. She had brought him in this close where she would have an advantage, but he would show her just how crafty he could also be. Raising up his gunpod as he spun around in GERWALK mode, Maverick aimed at one of the Dragoons and grinned as he hit the release button for his turret on the back of his YF-19.
As two targeting reticles appeared on his screen, Maverick centered them where the beams connected to the Dragoons and opened fire. The very least he could do was disrupt the shield, but if he was lucky, he might actually end up destroying at least one of the Dragoons.

Sakurazaki saw Maverick carefully aim, she realized that he was then aiming for the DRAGOON. Reacting quickly she aimed her cannon at the mech, waiting for the moment the shield would break. Maverick opened fire and the Dragoon was destroyed as a fury of bullets attacked it. The small explosion created a moment in time where Sakurazaki was able to squeeze off a beam headed straight for the mech. She then took out her saber and flew above Maverick, the cannon beam heading towards Maverick's unit. The other dragoons were flying back to her, all of them firing multiple shots close to or at the Maverick.

As soon as the Dragoon was destroyed, Maverick reacted instantly and spun his GERWALK into a barrel roll with thrusters at max as a beam shot past him and performed a mid-power turn as the beam weapons fired and hit his pin point barrier system.
Launching a full round of missiles at Sakurazaki, Maverick performed a loop the loop and switched to Battroid mode as he fired at the Dragoons that were returning to her. He couldn't pass those targets up and let them come back to bug him later. Pulling the thrusters back, he pulled away from Sakurazaki and continued to fire.

The Dragoons ceased their trajectory to form a shield to protect themselves against the oncoming onslaught. The Akatsuki barrel-rolled to the left and used the turrets installed in its head to fire at the incoming missiles. She then directed the Dragoons to form into a shield to block the remaining missiles that were aimed at them. "He's aiming for my Dragoons now...."
The Akatsuki began to move forward towards the enemy mech, weaving and dodging. Every so often she would fire a few shots towards the other mech's way, but knew it would dodge every one of them. She readied the double-bladed saber in her hand and went to engage Maverick head on.

This is it, Maverick thought as continued and pushed his thrusters forward aiming his gun at the hand Sakurazaki held the double-bladed saber in and fired. Continuing to fire he flew forward and straight at her as he roared, "LET'S GOOOOOOO!!!"

Sakurazki continued to move forward. The Akatsuki would be at an advantage in close range. The DRAGOONs aligned themselves to block the shots, and at the last possible moment, she allowed the shield to be dropped. Akatsuki's saber held high, ready to strike down the Maverick.

Moving quickly, Maverick switched to Battaroid mode as he grabbed her arm and held it up as he pushed his thrusters forward, trying to lift her arm as he flew upwards and above Sakurazaki. Looking as if he was in a handstand, Maverick raised his gunpod and aimed it directly at her Mobile Suits head. "Let's see if your good enough to dodge this!" he yelled as he opened fire.

Sakurazaki's eyes widened as the enemy mech continued toward her and suddenly was airborne. The gunpod was aimed at her mech's head, the gunfire from the turrets on the gundam's head became overwhelmed by the onslaught of the enemy's firepower. Readings flashed across her screen, the area where the head was had turned red, meaning it was severely damaged. With her mech's arm being held by Maverick's mech, she couldn't use the saber and if she fired her cannon, it would rebound back. The dragoons wouldn't be the best option now since the enemy was so close. Sakurazaki gritted her teeth.
"Looks like you have me Maverick. I'm done. Finish me off." She felt her hands drop from the controls.This man outsmarted me it seems... Orb had better be ready for this UN forces, it seemed there was a hard battle ahead.

Maverick smiled as Sakurazaki's voice came over the comm channel, "No I don't think so. I have no will to be killing anyone today if it can be helped." he said lightly as he kept the his gun aimed at her mech. "I'll be taking you with me, Ms. Sakurazaki."
Tapping her mech with his gun, he continued. "I take it you have a suit? Please exit your mobile suit now."

Wait....is he kidnapping me!? "What the hell are you playing at?" She yelled at the comm unit. "You should finish me off honorably. I'm NOT going to be a plaything/bargaining chip for the UN Forces."

Maverick smiled at Sakurazaki's words over the comm channel, "I'm not playing at anything. I just don't want to kill you is all." he replied cheerfully. "I can promise you that you will be treated respectfully and I won't let you be used as a bargaining chip. Just exit your mobile suit now or I'll be forced to come down there and pull you out if need be." With that, he closed off the comm channel so that she would know that there would be no further discussion.
This was perhaps the best way, he didn't want to kill her and would rather take her into custody then leave her stranded. Sighing, he waited for her to get out of her mobile suit as he checked his monitors to make sure no more surprises where in store for him.

Pull me out if need be? Sakurazaki twitched in annoyance. This guy was odd but she had little choice but to follow his directions. She carefully opened the cockpit, and was face to face with the mech that had beaten her. She crossed her arms as she waited for Maverick to pick her up. This was the last thing I was expecting when I came out here.

As Sakurazaki stepped outside of her cockpit, Maverick smiled and switched to GERWALK mode as he brought his YF-19 down to where she stood until his cockpit was before her. Popping the canopy, he nodded to the seat behind him and smiled at her. "Welcome to the Veritech Express, Ms. Sakurazaki." he said as he began to set a course to where he left his fold boosters.
"Please don't try anything funny by the way, that would be a one-way ticket stranded out here. Though I might add, I really don't want to do that."

Rei sighed. "I guess that I can't use this then?" In her hand was a knife, which she stowed away back in her pocket. Really wish I had grabbed a gun or something back in the hangar bay. She took a look through the cockpit at Akatsuki, which was still floating silently in space. "Listen. I appreciate the lift and all, but my mech is still operational. I can most likely pilot it myself to where ever you are taking me. The Akatsuki is my personal gundam, and is ...." Sakurazaki trailed off. "Nevermind." I shouldn't be letting my guard down yet.

Maverick rolled his eyes as she put away the knife, "Well that's nice." he said with a sigh as he listened to her worries about her mech. "I'm sorry Ms. Sakurazaki, but I'm sure your people will come for it later as soon as they send out a party to look for you." Looking down, he checked his time and saw that it'd only been half an hour after they'd started battling.
Looking back up to her he gave an exasperated sigh, "I'm sorry but please get in and come with me since I have questions to ask and don't want you pulling anything else in your mobile suit. Also, I was wondering if you had anything else for me to call you by then Sakurazaki?" he asked in a cheerful tone.

"......" This guy is odd. Sakurazaki got into Maverick's mech and studied it carefully. "You can call me Rei." She folded her arms across her chest and sat. "I can see why I had trouble with you. Your .....mech.......is different from a gundam." She quickly added. "Normally I could have defeated you easily." She looked at the Akatsuki once again, the head was really battered and bit of the destroyed dragoon were floating around. God this is going to come off my paycheck. Turning to Maverick she barked, "Well are we going or not. Who knows when I'll call my Orb friends right?"
